An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Study of the Thirteen Original Colonies and the American Revolutionary War It is important for 5th graders to learn the opposing viewpoints that led to the Revolutionary War. They also need to know about colonial daily life and gain an understanding of America's fight for independence. This will help them better appreciate the freedom enjoyed by Americans, and the sacrifices made by those that lived during colonial America.
